In this role, the coordinator will be responsible for zoning compliance, ordinance, additional planning activities. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between the public, developers, and local governing bodies, providing information and technical assistance regarding ordinance requirements. Key responsibilities include reviewing application requests for rezoning, variances, conditional uses, and special exceptions, as well as reviewing site plans and subdivision plats for completion. Will report to the Building Codes Director.
Qualifications for this position include:
Considerable experience in city, county, or regional planning, zoning administration, or code enforcement.
Considerable knowledge of GIS mapping software.
Excellent interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
AICP certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain it.
